 Ashford Financial Group’s co-founder and President Mr. Jeremy Ashford has over 30 years’ of experience at the vanguard of the international investment management business.  
Jeremy was born in Japan while his father, the Economist and co-founder of Ashford Financial Group Mr. Bartholomew Ashford III, was working on the economic reconstruction in post-war Japan, before moving to Korea in the wake of the Korean War. The family moved back to the USA where Jeremy completed his high-School education in Connecticut.

After completing his Master’s Degree in Politics and Sino-USA Relations from the University of California: Los Angeles, Jeremy started his professional career at Loeb, Rhoades, Hornblower & Co. in New York, before the firm merged with Shearson to form Shearson Loeb Rhoades. Following the firm’s reorganisation, Jeremy joined Bear Sterns as an East Asian Political Analyst, before being appointed as Head of Macro-Economic Research for East Asia in 1989 based in Tokyo. During the early 1990’s Jeremy was responsible for the shift from a Japan focussed approach to East Asian research, to an increasing focus on Greater China. Jeremy Ashford co-founded Ashford Financial Group with his father the late Economist Bartholomew Ashford III and Hiroshi Ito in 1994 and has served as Chief Executive Officer (1994-1998) and Chief Investment Officer (1998-2002) and, following the retirement of his father in 1998, he was appointed President of the Ashford Financial Group.
