Beacon Pointe Securities' Chief Executive Officer Katherine Wu was born in Shanghai and educated at Tongji University in the city.

Katherine worked for the Bank of Communications in Shanghai until 1997, when she was headhunted by Hong Kong based Hedge Fund as Business Development Officer for China.

Whilst in Hong Kong, Katherine completed her MBA at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and established extensive contacts within the Hong Kong business community, adding to her high level contacts within the government, banking and corporate communities in mainland China.

Katherine Wu joined Beacon Pointe Securities in 2002 as Chief Communications Officer, before being appointed CEO in 2006.
