Establishing Vermont Waterfalls Tour LLC has been a dream of Ms. Hughes for many years although the concept is but a year old, her dream of starting her own business is much older. In the mid 1990's she participated in the Women's Small Business program in hopes of starting her own business. It wasn't until last year on a trip to Moss Glen Falls with her family that the business concept was formed.

Lillian Hughes has won awards for both customer service and going above and beyond her job description. She was described as tenacious by her fellow board members when she was on the board of Huntington Open Women’s Land for her ability to overcome obstacles and get things done. She has worked for the environment participating in Green up Vermont, Earth Day and canvassing for VPIRG. She was a group photographer for many years in the Vermont School System and has traveled throughout the state extensively for 30 years. She underwent training and worked for the Vermont Visiting Nurses Associations (VNA) Care Connection program for several years providing in home health care, companionship and transportation for the elderly. She is a Red Cross Blood Donor. She has produced and directed her own documentary film as well as produced and directed her own television show on public access. She temporarily directed a Public Education Government (PEG) Access Station. She has many technical skills including; photography, video, photo and video editing, web designing and developing, word processing, statistical design and analysis, medical research, developing recipes and home health care products.

Hughes has been a member of Vermont Public Interest Group (VPIRG) as well as a paid canvasser. She has supported Public Television, Girl Scouts of Vermont, Boy Scouts of Vermont, Earth and Green up Days, Huntington Open Women’s Land, Women’s Issues, environmental legislation and civil rights. She served on the board of Huntington Open Women’s Land (HOWL) for several years organizing fundraisers and helping develop policies and goals.

The past few years Hughes has been working seasonal and temporary assignments for both Vermont Teddy Bear (VTB) and Westaff. She has performed customer service for many Vermont companies including; Twin Craft, Special Services Transportation Authority (SSTA), VTB, and Champlain College. She has spent the past year working on her business plan for Vermont Waterfalls Tour LLC as well as the website www.vermontwaterfallstour.com.

A graduate of the University of Vermont Hughes did not end her passionate pursuit of knowledge there. Since receiving her BA in psychology she has continued study in herbal medicine, nutritional and natural healing, traditional cooking, self diagnosis and self healing. She also attended Johnson State College and Community College of Vermont.
