A former British Army Officer, John commissioned from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst into The Household Cavalry Regiment (The Blues and Royals).

Away from the office John works hard on behalf of his Charity (Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation) supporting veterans and raising awareness of the plight of vulnerable ex-servicemen and women. He is also the Honorary Treasurer of St Dionis church, central London; an active member of The Chartered Institute of Insurance, the Personal Finance Society, and the Institute of Personnel and Development.
