Joanna Allen, chief executive officer, Allen Marketing Communications, Inc. has more than 25 years in consumer public relations industry -- travel and tourism, food and beverages, non-profits, publishing, spas and wellness, wine and spirits and lifestyle brands. Her expertise includes strategic account management, brand building campaigns, new product introductions, cause-related marketing, and special events.
Prior to starting Allen Marketing Communications, Inc., Ms. Allen has worked in-house at VisitBritain, the national tourist office for London, England, Scotland and Wales. Ms. Allen has served as a company spokesperson, as well as launched the "be a BRIT different" campaign.
Ms. Allen has also worked at Girl Scouts of the USA to generate awareness for the 100th anniversary celebration, as well as to launch the "To Get Her There" Advocacy campaign. Ms. Allen has worked at well-known public relations agencies such as Hill and Knowlton, Inc. and Shandwick (now known as Weber Shandwick International, Inc.) representing clients such as Almaden Wines, Covenant House New York, Hellmann's and Best Food Salad Dressing, Halekulani Hotel, Maker's Mark Bourbon, Marquis Private Jet Company, Montreal Tourism, Puerto Rico Tourism Company, Renaissance Cruises, Quebec Tourism, Terry Fox Foundation and The Utah Travel Council.
Ms. Allen has won a Big Apple Award for the Emotional Magic Mix Campaign for the Puerto Rico Tourism Company. Ms. Allen holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics and in creative writing from Hamilton College.
