Publisher

Hands-on marketing and publishing professional with over 10 years experience, including managing operations, streamlining cost efficiency and productivity; content management, technology conversion, documentation, implementation, training and support.
Kali Amanda Browne founded Amapola Press in 2012 after spending a year self-publishing ten e-books, from cookbooks to fiction and non-fiction. The Latina writer also manages two blogs and a twitter feed that compliments her cookbooks and an online food column, running on weekends with links to easy recipes for weekend chefs and for brown baggers.

Born in New York, she was educated and grew up in the island of Puerto Rico, and has spent almost her entire adult life in Brooklyn, NY. The product of several generations of multicultural couplings, she tends to search out a wealth of cultural experiences to expand her own horizons.

Ms. Browne has a two-decade career as a marketing and publishing professional, having worked at the New York City Department of Education and The Walt Disney Company (at Disney Adventures and Discover Magazines); and as a marketing and technology consultant at Teach for America and Warner Bros. Online, among other clients.

She holds degrees from The Fashion Institute of Technology (an Associate in Advertising and Communications, and a Bachelors in Marketing), as well as a Masters from New York University in Publishing.
