Dr. DeMaria is the Founder, President and Principal Forensic Consultant of Americana Safety Associates. He is a self-motivated business professional with multiple college degrees, national board certifications and a respected 35+ year career in the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) profession that includes more than 20 years as the Safety Superintendent of the U.S. Air Force.

Dr. DeMaria has set the standard for excellence in providing targeted OHS worksite, project and management consultations to business and industry and assistance to the legal profession. Many diversified companies have been provided clear and documented direction for mitigating OHS risk, managing regulatory compliance and for encouraging a positive safety culture.

Dr. DeMaria is certified in Federal and district courts as an expert in the field of Occupational Health and Safety engineering.

QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY

Provides OHS technical guidance directed towards elimination of risk, including hazardous chemical use and waste removal;

Develops the application of site specific OHS regulatory policies, procedures and processes to mitigate fines and penalties;

Conducts mishap investigations, prepares detailed reports and recommends and monitors corrective actions;

Facilitates root cause analyses of significant injuries, incidents and property loss to prevent recurrence;

Provides targeted OHS training to ensure worker safety and to reduce employer workers’ compensation claims;

Communicates behavior-based safety management programs and principals to forge a long-lasting safety culture;

Performs Job Hazard Analysis and tracks OHS injury and illness data to uncover adverse trends and related metrics;

Performs ergonomic assessments and provides technical guidance to employees to minimize musculoskeletal injuries; and

Reviews introduction of new workplace chemicals to ensure controls and best practices are established prior to use.
