Charity Marcus is a public relations and brand development specialist. As the CEO of Avenu PR, Charity has over 7 years of public relations, branding and event planning experience. Ms. Marcus began her entrepreneurial career in 2009 as an event planner. Through her business, Black Diamond Entertainment, Ms. Marcus coordinated private events, conferences, concert management, and club promotions in Texas. After operating her business for four years, Charity moved back to Oklahoma and closed her business. Although she dissolved Black Diamond Entertainment, Charity continued to plan events by volunteering her services to local nonprofit organizations.

After taking an entrepreneurial hiatus, Charity founded Avenu Consulting 2014. While working heavily in politics as a political consultant and campaign manager, Ms. Marcus helped candidates secure media placements, manage social media accounts, assisted candidates with media prepping, guided community relations strategies, and wrote speeches. Although Charity worked in politics, she added a public relations division to service businesses in other industries. Soon after, she began working with clients in the commercial development industry, restaurant, and technology industries, policy arena, nonprofits, a chamber, and individuals, handling publicity, social media, event planning, crisis management, government relations, branding, and media relations.

Four years and many clients later, Ms. Marcus decided it was time to pivot and take her business model in a new direction. Charity wanted to ensure that her public relations services were receiving maximum exposure. So she broke off her public relations division and created Avenu PR, a boutique public relations and branding agency. Today, Charity works with various clients on short-term and long-term PR strategies, consults with small businesses and up & coming publicists, and serves as an expert guest on industry-related panels and workshops, and has been a guest contributor for various online media outlets.

In the community, Charity sits on the Oklahoma Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and is an Associate Board Member for the Domestic Violence Intervention Services (DVIS). Charity currently resides in Tulsa, OK.
