Mohamed is a graduate of the University of San Francisco, where he earned a Master's Degree in Computer Science Technology in 1985. His research at the school explored voice compression & automatic speech recognition as well as the transport of packets via traditional telephony networks. In 1990, he joined Digital France as an executive engineer. Two years later, Mohamed founded a company of his own - Intelect solution - specializing in the integration of computer telephony applications as a value-added reseller. Among the earliest adopters of VoIP technology, he began delivering IP telephony services as an internet telephony service provider in 1998.

In 2001, Mohamed co-founded Dialexia Communications and became its chief technical officer. Under his tenure, the company has released several innovative, industry-acclaimed IP telephony products, including Dial Office IP PBX, Dial Gate softswitch and, most recently, the award-winning HERO hosted PBX.
