Jamie B. Estes is president of Estes Public Relations, a company that focuses on relationship marketing to establish its clients as leaders in their fields. Prior to opening her own firm, Estes created FSA Public Relations, a division of FSA Group, which she managed for nearly 10 years. In addition, she has worked with several James Beard winners and handled nearly than 40 chef appearances at the James Beard House. Estes earned her bachelor’s degree in public relations at the University of Alabama and her master’s degree in communications from the University of Kentucky. She has served as president of the International Foodservice Editorial Council and was a founding board member and chairman of the American Institute of Wine & Food’s Kentucky chapter. Other professional affiliations include the Southern Foodways Alliance, the International Association of Culinary Professionals and the James Beard Foundation. She is also very actively involved in the community, serving on the University of Kentucky Jefferson County Alumni Board, the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft Bourbon Ball Committee, Junior League of Louisville, the Younger Women’s Club and the Clifton Center Board.
Estes has earned both local and national accolades for her work, including the “40 under 40 Award” from Business First newspaper in Louisville. She has also won numerous national awards from such organizations as the Public Relations Society of America, International Association of Business Communicators and the Hospitality, Sales and Marketing Association International. In 2008, Estes was honored by the National Association of Women Business Owners as a Woman Business Owner of Distinction. She has been featured in articles in the Louisville Courier Journal, Business First, Today’s Woman and Southern Living.
