Clarence Bird, Jr. began his international trade career under the leadership of former Miami-Dade County Mayor Alex Penelas, and County Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz, he served as the Assistant to the Executive Director of the Jay Malina International Trade Consortium of Miami-Dade County, Florida (ITC). In this capacity he coordinated and assisted in the implementation of work programs and project deadlines, the development and management of incoming/outgoing trade missions, this included, but not limited to, conducting pre-missions to assigned countries/regions to perform the necessary logistics for the success of each trade mission.

Clarence oversaw all operations of the Mayor’s Trade Mission Center of the Americas (TMC) a 501 (C)(3) not-for-profit organization charged with the promotion of Miami-Dade County as the “Gateway to the Americas” through incoming/outgoing trade missions and innovative educational programs. He co-authored the official Miami-Dade County Protocol Manual approved through Resolution by the Board of County Commissioners. He also assisted in the administration of the Miami-Dade Sister Cities Program, a division under the ITC, whose mission is to create and strengthen partnerships between the County and international communities through increased global cooperation and understanding at the municipal level, and to further the goals of Sister Cities International (SCI).

Clarence represented the County in various conferences and board meetings such as:

-ITC Board Meetings and Standing Committees
-Mayor’s African Trade Task Force Board Meetings
-Sister Cities Coordinating Council Meetings and Standing Committees
-Worked closely with the Miami-Dade Consular Corps

As a private consultant, he was the Executive Director for the Florida Foreign Trade Association (F.F.T.A.), a 501(C)(6) not-for-profit trade organization that serves the international business community by facilitating global exchange through trade missions, networking, education, tradeshows, conferences, seminars, and innovative trade development programs. He also coordinated all events such as F.F.T.A.’s Trade-USA Incoming Trade Missions Program, Alliance to Promote International Trade Business Expo’s, Around the World Golf Tournaments, and other related special events.

As General Manager of International Trading Center (ITC) he established its international business incubator and oversaw all the day-to-day operations. Mr. Bird also was responsible to supporting new businesses or international businesses looking to enter U.S. and Latin American markets facilitating the international expansion efforts of service and manufacturing companies supporting companies of many sectors and sizes while assisting them internationalizing their operations.

Mr. Bird serves as Vice Chairman/Chief Operating Officer and is a co-founding Member of the Exporters Association of the United States of America, Inc. (EA-USA), a Not-for-Profit trade organization based in Miami, Florida that offers the expertise that a proactive-oriented and market-opportunity seeking company needs to develop and enter new product distribution and new market segments in new markets. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of international business development, market identification and development, channel development, distribution strategies, and marketing strategies for all types of products and services. In March 2013, he was appointed as Executive Director of the Doral Chamber of Commerce a 501 (C)(6) organization to oversee all of its the day-to-day operations.
