Dr. Taylor, a.k.a., Wellness Mom,M.D. founded a holistic wellness center called FamilyWellnessMD based in Berkeley Lake, GA that serves families looking for guidance and personalized help in developing a healthy eating and fitness plan. She first developed the center out of a desire to help overweight children with weight loss. This coupled with her own struggles as a mom in providing healthy, nutritious meals for her children. She recognizes the challenges that many moms face amidst all the pressures of daily life. This coupled with the dismal choices available in many schools makes it hard for children to maintain a healthy weight.
Dr. Taylor first found her passion for advocating for children’s health while a student at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. She chaired the First Annual Community Health Fair in Winston-Salem, NC sponsored by the students of the School of Medicine. She received Dean’s Recognition honoring her leadership in this area. Dr. Taylor then went on to complete her residency at the University of Florida Shand’s Children’s Hospital where she served as the Program Delegate to the American Academy of Pediatrics. She also served as the Assistant Chair for Florida’s Resident’s Section of the American Academy of Pediatrics. While at the University of Florida, she helped champion advocacy programs fighting against childhood obesity. She has now made Georgia her home and is determined to see families make a change in their daily lives for the health of their children.
