Cathy’s career began with Wyndham Hotels over 19 years ago and it has been on fast forward ever since. During this time she has worked with franchise owners for IHG, Marriott Hotels and Resorts, Wyndham Hotels, Hilton Hotels, Starwood, La Quinta Hotels, as well as some non-branded hotels. Her management experience has found her with multiple roles in hospitality as well. She has worked as a Regional Vice President, General Manager with both IHG and Marriott, and multiple Sales Responsibilities including National Sales, Director of Sales and Regional Vice President of Sales. These experiences include opening hotels, receivership takeover of hotels as well as rebranding, and improving performance of existing hotels by both revenue generation and guest service scores.

Prior to joining M. Gibson Hotels, Cathy came to us with over 10 years of multiple property experience with two of the top 25 National Hotel Management companies in the US. Her desire to move closer to family, brought her to M. Gibson Hotels, as she grew up in the Knoxville area.

Cathy was had several honors bestowed upon her during her tenor including being named to the General Manager’s advisory board for IHG, as well as top ten sales at Interstate Hotels. She holds Certifications in General Management with IHG, Marriott, IHG Certified Revenue Manager, Marriott Certified Revenue Manager, Wyndham Revenue management experience, as well is Certification as a system management expert with New Market International.

Mrs. Gilbert grew up in Knoxville Tennessee and attended University of Texas at Arlington, where she received her degree in Business Administration. She has a diverse background in all aspects of the hospitality industry and enjoyed much success both within the hotel industry as well as in the communities where she has lived. Active member of her church, volunteer for Ronald McDonald House, and Children’s charities. She lives in the Knoxville area, with her husband, Roger, and their two black cocker spaniels, Brandy and Brittany.

Mrs. Gilbert joined M. Gibson Hotels in 2013.
