A driven and innovative entrepreneur, John has had a rich and varied career that has brought him to the forefront of EB-5 Investment strategy as CEO of Shepherd Capital Funding. John comes from a background of legal studies ranging from international business law to criminal and immigration law at the state and federal level. As a consultant and advisor, John has guided the development of businesses in the restaurant industry and real estate arena, most recently serving as Vice President for a real estate company in New York City. A driven and innovative entrepreneur, for the past year, he has served as President of Strategy and Development for Salt Energy, a boutique Oil & Gas consultancy firm. His depth of knowledge, wealth of experience, business development expertise and attention to detail makes him a valuable asset to his clients.

A Miami native, Mr. Shepherd was born into and raised directly involved in the hotel operations and construction business. John has spent an extensive amount of time preparing research for a book on the emergence of social-eco-entrepreneurship and it’s impact on the future of private capital markets.
