Joe is the President Chief Operations Officer and co-founder, of Mechanical Energy Systems, Inc. (MES) founded in 1985. Joe has been in the solar industry since 1975 as the Vice President of a Fortune 500 company in Michigan that closed in the early 1980's. Cheap energy and the removal of Federal incentives made it difficult to keep a steady growth in the solar energy field.

Joe is the technical expert behind alternative energy and energy efficient products since 1979. Joe analysis the performance and quality of all components, leads the solar design team, oversees each project, trains the crew and monitors the installation.

Joe and his wife Donna believed that solar energy was a great alternative to fossil fuels and knew how well it worked in Michigan and decided to continue in the industry. They serviced customers that would have been orphaned and continued to build a strong service and quality solar installation reputation. Joe specialized in solar thermal heating because it was a reliable solar application. Recently Joe has moved more towards grid tied solar electricity because the newer systems are very efficient and far more viable than they were in the past.

Joe has implemented the installation of over 7,000 units primarily in Michigan with many throughout the states and the Caribbean.
