After acheiving 3 A grade A levels in one year, Martin went on to read law at Cardiff Law school where he graduated in 1996. He went on to study the post-graduate diploma in legal practice. Martin also studied the diploma in legal practice and higher diploma in legal practice offered by ILEX. In addition to his LL.B Hons, Martin studied a B.A Hons in business administration (by distance learning).

Professional

Martin is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management. Martin is also a director of the Institute of Legal Executives and sits on the National Council and is vice-Chair of the London Branch. Martin has extensive experience in residential & commercial conveyancing, landlord & tenant, civil litigation and consumer credit law.

Career

Like most law graduates, Martin's career started in small and medium sized firms. Starting at the bottom in the post room and moving up to legal secretary, legal assistant, fee earner, qualified lawyer, senior lawyer, manager and senior manager, Martin has worked at every level within private practice firms and understands the pressures staff at different levels have. Martin has worked at the heart of several firms throughout his career, and has extensive experience with claims management compaies and business structures designed to maximise the opportunity of ABS whilst maintaining the need for regulatory compliance. With this expertise, combined with a strong network of lawyers, claims management companies and recruiters, Martin is well positioned to provide consultative services across a range of operational and practice areas to the profession.
