Mr. Shabkie started his career as a nationally registered paramedic and an Arizona state certified firefighter. He completed his degree in business administration from San Diego State University. After college, he earned multiple certifications in fire science, paramedicine, hazardous materials response and emergency medical dispatch.

In recognition of his passionate commitment to serving others and his industry expertise, he was quickly promoted into progressively more complex leadership roles.

Serving as the Regional Vice President for an Arizona based, publicly traded health and safety company, he provided executive leadership to over 1500 Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers. During this period, he was responsible for the development and implementation of new 911 operations and directly managed a $55 million-dollar budget.

After 16 years in the C-suite, Shabkie became a consultant to the EMS and Fire Service industry and has been retained by leading EMS and Fire organizations. As a trusted advisor, he has designed and implemented many innovative service delivery models.

He is especially proud to highlight, post 9/11, his work with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to enhance their EMS and Public Health response to biological weapons of mass destruction.

Mike’s passionate drive to improve the delivery of care shows in his expanding areas of interest to include developing integrated healthcare delivery models between Emergency Medical Service providers, the Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) industry and the communities they serve.
