Born and raised in West Michigan on the shores of Grand Haven, Thom Byxbe knew at an early age that he wanted to inspire people. Even though Thom enjoyed a successful career in sales and management for over 18 years, he felt something was missing. He soon realized his passion for writing was the conduit in which he could help others heal. Thom has been a writer for 40 years, 20 of them professionally having published and authored several blogs. When asked about his writing style Thom says, “People seem to enjoy my direct, truthful, ‘no holds barred’ approach.”

Thom’s yearning for new experiences helped fuel his travel bug having visited 44 of the 50 states. He has lived in Milwaukee, Las Vegas, and Phoenix and currently resides in SW Detroit, Michigan. Living in Detroit for fifteen years pushed Thom to become an activist for the city; seeing the potential and importance in its revitalization. Thom’s passion to help people goes beyond his writing and he currently serves on several boards for nonprofit organizations focusing on the treatment and care of the homeless and those with mental health issues.

Being spiritual in his beliefs, Thom's deep, philosophical side is matched with a lightheartedness that keeps him young. His young spirit feeds his love of roller coasters, and spontaneous road trips. When he’s not screaming on the highest peak of a thrilling ride, or deciding what road to go down next Thom can be found pursuing his other passions of cooking, or fulfilling his need for knowledge as a self confessed information junkie.
