Background
Adam Smith founded Password RBL in 2013 with the goal of helping businesses combat the increasing frequency of cyber attacks and subsequent increasing number of data breaches. He specifically wanted the solution very affordable and easy to use so businesses of all sizes, not just large companies, could benefit.
Password RBL was born as an API-based subscription service that was very compatible as it relied on industry standard cryptography algorithms that are readily available in most all programming languages. That is still true today, whether customers are using the direct API access or using the company's Password Firewall product to protect their Windows network.
Smith takes security seriously, and has thus established Password RBL's vision of providing a simple solution that is technologically secure, but also a company that is secure. He started the company with his own private funds so that customers can be reassured that Password RBL only has their interests in mind and not those of investors.
Smith has a long history of work in the Information Technology and Information Security fields, prior to founding Password RBL. He has worked as a Systems Administrator in both Windows and Unix/Linux environments. And he has over a decade of experience acting as a general IT integration engineer and IT Security consultant. It was working in these roles that he saw the need to create a solution to the growing IT Security needs.
Smith holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of California Santa Barbara with emphasis in Networking, Security and Cryptography.
Password RBL continues to offer easy to use password security solutions to businesses of all sizes.
