Dawn Richardson, owner of Rendezvous by Dawn, took a childhood pastime and turned it into a business she loves. As a child she use to sit with her friend and look through countless books to plan weddings complete with honeymoons. This pastime lead her to enter travel school in 1993. She graduated in the top five percent of her class from The St. Louis Travel Academy in 1994; fully trained to research, plan and book any travel arrangements a customer would need. After trying to gain entry into several travel agencies to no avail, she could not let her passion go, so she made travel arrangements on the side for whoever had a need.

In 1997, while working for a large grocery company in the Human Resources department, she was very instrumental in creating and running fundraisers and other special events for the company. During her employ she came across a travel consultant position that was available within her department. The job consisted of calling an outside travel agency to make the arrangements and all she would have been required to do was document those arrangements and give it to the company employee. When she applied for it, she was told that she was not qualified for the position as she did not have the proper training.

Dawn was not satisfied with this and decided to take matters into her own hands. She felt she was more than qualified for this position and also felt an overwhelming need to go “all in” in her field. She stepped out on faith and wrote a resignation letter to the head of the company, giving her two weeks’ notice. From there she started her own travel agency, Secret Rendezvous Travel.

Dawn ran Secret Rendezvous as a home based agency, offering full travel services to her clients. She soon joined Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) to make herself more compatible in the travel industry. She always went above and beyond what her clients expected by offering meetings for questions, held Meet & Greet events for people traveling in a group, held bon voyage parties for clients, walked her customers through the process of obtaining their passports and even hand delivered their travel documents to their homes.

Dawn never got away from her travel roots nor did she ever get away from planning weddings. While she was sending people around the globe her name was also being given out for wedding planning. Not wanting to run her new line of clients off she created Infinite Elegance Event Planning in 1999. Under this company she consulted on, planned and coordinated more than 100 weddings to date. She holds memberships with Wedding Professionals Networking Group, Pride & Joy Weddings, and Association of Bridal Consultants, to name a few. She offered everything from impromptu consulting to full service wedding coverage. The weddings she coordinated had guest list ranging from 50 to 350, which took her creativity from intimate luxury to a grand gala affair.

In 2009, Dawn realized that running two separate companies was not in her best interest. She came to the conclusion that she needed to merge the two. With that thought in mind, she created Rendezvous by Dawn. This merge allowed her to offer seamless service to her growing clientele.

At the end of 2012, Dawn reviewed her business and the services she was offering so she could find another way to market herself and expand her client base. It stood out that her existing clients never had to lift a finger to get their needs met. When she thought about it, she realized she was already offering a valuable service; it just needed to be marketed.
At the start of 2013, Dawn decided to formally add concierge services to her portfolio. In this area of her business she offers everything from personal shopping to event planning to travel to pet sitting. This new line of services falls right into what Dawn was already offering. She loves all the behind the scenes planning that goes into make the frontline of life look and feel flawless.

Rendezvous is determined to bring the lifestyle of the super-rich to the hands of everyone she comes in contact with. After all, why should the wealthy be the only ones to enjoy a stress free life?
