David Hanna has spent the past two decades providing quality communication services for nonprofit and governmental organizations. For the past six years, he has served as Publicity Services Manager for the St. Joseph County Public Library in South Bend, Indiana, where he manages and coordinates three-person library support department responsible for all general marketing/public relations activities; oversees website development and maintenance; writes, edits, and distributes press releases; manages organization brand and style; coordinates media relations; and writes, edits, and coordinates production and distribution of all library-related communications.

Prior to that, he served as Director of Public Relations for Independent Colleges of Indiana, where he managed and coordinated public relations activities for 31-member association and 30-member foundation; managed media relations; wrote grant applications; managed grants; developed and maintained website; wrote, edited, and coordinated production of publications; and coordinated and managed event exhibits.

Hanna also held several positions in Indiana state government, serving as a manager in the Procurement Division of the Indiana Department of Administration, overseeing multiple sections of buyers and various aspects of the state procurement process. Prior to that, he spent one session as an editorial assistant for the Indiana General Assembly.

Hanna has also served as a senior editor for a start-up university press; has taught post-secondary general education courses for a college in South Bend; and has worked as a freelance journalist covering local government, schools, and sports for two (one daily and one weekly) newspapers.
