“ Maureen E. Patterson has over 15 years of professional lighting design experience. Classically trained in theatre and mastering special events, she can transform both traditional and nontraditional venues to reflect each client's unique vision and style. ”

Maureen E. Patterson brings over 15 years of experience to the table in lighting design, production management, and lighting technology. She began as a lighting tech in high school theatre and quickly started part time employment at different lighting rental houses. Later, she attended Baldwin Wallace College where she created her own discipline and earned a BA in Theatre with an Emphasis on Technology and Design. Having free-lanced throughout college as a lighting designer and technician, Maureen established many relationships within both the Cleveland and Dallas theatrical communities having provided design and technical support for The Cleveland Play House, John Carroll University, The Dallas Theatre Center, Cleveland Opera, The Cleveland San Jose Ballet, and many others. When Maureen was 19, she was already responsible for show budgets and gear specification as well as running an IATSE local 27 crew to ensure each production was on time, on budget, and executed in a safe manner.
After college, Maureen spent a brief time in Las Vegas as a lighting technician at MGM Grand. As well as working the largest permanent light rig on the planet at the time, she helped with special projects. This experience helped open her eyes to a whole new world of lighting design. Restaurants, night clubs and other spaces on property would host a variety of special events. This team created unique and interesting presentations of venues for these events as well as technical support.
Following her first love of theatre, Maureen ended up back in Cleveland as the Production Electrician for the Cleveland Play House. During her tenure here, she also acted as the resident lighting designer for the Cleveland Play House Children’s Series and the MFA program at Case Western Reserve University. Frequently limited on budgets and resources, the creative teams for these programs were second to none in overcoming these challenges. Also while at the Cleveland Play House, Maureen had an opportunity to design lighting for galas, benefits and parties for The Cleveland Play House and the Cleveland School of the Arts.
After five years, Maureen decided to switch gears and work for a local vendor. The first year she was there, Maureen held an administrative position. She was then promoted to Production Manager where she was responsible for outside sales of lighting for special events. This included recruiting new clients, maintaining existing clients, as well as providing lighting design solutions for a variety of events in a variety of venues on budget and on time. One of these lighting designs contributed to a client winning an internationally recognized award for best décor in 2010.
Maureen is eager to bring her experience and creativity to each event and is committed to providing the most innovative lighting for any application. Her expertise allows her to recognize the attention to detail required to produce a visually impactful experience both clients and guests will not soon forget.
