 Robin Van Auken is an editor and writer, specializing in historic topics. She is chief technical adviser for The Omnibus.

Robin is a cultural heritage specialist, and enjoys working on projects, large and small. A writer, educator and professional archaeologist, she teaches Media Writing and American Archaeology courses at Lycoming College. She also directs the summer youth program, Lycoming College for Kids & Teens.
She has 25+ years as a journalist, working for daily and weekly newspapers in Florida and Pennsylvania. She is the author and co-author of 10 books on regional history, including “Play Ball! The Story of Little League Baseball.”
She attended St. Petersburg College (FL) and the University of South Florida. She has advanced degrees in anthropology and communications. She majored in historical archaeology and public archaeology. She has directed multi-year archaeological projects, working with dozens of volunteers and educating thousands of visitors.
In addition to her work as a college instructor and archaeologist, her employment history includes reporting and editorial stints at daily and weekly newspapers, and curatorial and educational positions at hands-on-museums.

Cultural Heritage Specialties:
Researching, writing reports, museum curation, cultural consultation, conducting oral histories, videotaping interviews, instructing, organizing public archaeology digs, overseeing field schools, historic and prehistoric site survey.

Writing, editing, researching, interviewing, instructing, organizing workshops, website content development, teaching and integrating social media, and most activities within general print and digital communications.
