Tamiko Lowry is a survivor. After years of hurdling over obstacles and roadblocks including a five-year marriage in which her spirit, mind, and body was battered constantly, she has embarked on a journey to birth purpose out of her pain. A Buffalo, NY native, Tamiko Lowry is the epitome of her aptly named non-profit, The Still Standing Foundation—an organization that provides a positive outlet for survivors of domestic violence to shed the shame and despair of their struggle while gaining strength and power in spite of it. She is a compassionate mentor and friend, an enthusiastic leader, and visionary.
Tamiko is the recipient of the Atlanta 2012 Rising Star Award for her work with The Still Standing Foundation. She is a member of The National Association of Professional Women, Atlanta’s Urban Professionals, Women in the Spotlight Going Global, and Braveheart Women's Global Community. Tamiko was recently featured in Career Magazine’s article “40 Movers and Shakers under the age of 40”. She currently serves as the Entertainment correspondent for the Chat Kafe radio show. Her experiences and the wisdom gained from them has afforded her many opportunities to appear on several radio and talk shows, host seminars, and provide support to other charitable organizations throughout the Atlanta area.
As a certified Self Defense instructor and Empowerment Coach, Tamiko believes that empowerment comes from within and can be achieved by honoring yourself, your values, and expressing your talents and gifts.
Tamiko is the proud mother of Destiny and Michael and resides in Atlanta, GA.
