Charlene Siemon
Manager, Wood Ranch
“ Very rarely is someone going to be good at all things…The key is to find your niche – what you are really good at and enjoy – and then pursue it with a passion. ”
Raised in Avon, Connecticut, Charlene grew up the oldest of three children. In life, we can often face unexpected but necessary changes that ultimately create personal growth. Charlene was faced with one of those defining moments early in her life with the separation of her parents. In a family where her father had been the sole source of income, Charlene was faced with a challenge.
“My mother clearly needed assistance not only with the family expenses but also with the care of my younger brother and sister. I made a decision to act in the best interest of my family by becoming the caretaker after school and getting a job to help the family out financially.”
With her comfortable warmth and keen sense of humor intact, Charlene left Connecticut in 1980 to settle in Southern California. There, she worked for a major health insurance company as an administrative assistant during the week, and as a real estate enthusiast on the weekend – always going to open houses.
“I loved visiting all of the homes as I have an appreciation for the architecture, landscaping and interior designs.”
Her interest in real estate grew into a career Charlene felt would fulfill her interest while allowing her to spend precious time with her young son. Working whenever possible, she carved out an impressive track record of success as she specialized in residential, new construction and land sales.
Joining Troop Real Estate was the next “life decision,” but this one was easy. While her mother was visiting Charlene at her Simi Valley home from Connecticut, she asked, “Why aren’t you working for Troop Real Estate when they have most of the real estate signs in town?” Good question… she was working for Troop Real Estate within a week and has never looked back.
Charlene’s quiet confidence, nurturing personality, and grasp of the real estate industry are striking and have propelled her to become a top manager for Troop Real Estate. She believes one must have a “passion” for the business and stresses the need to find your niche to succeed.
“Very rarely is someone going to be good at all things…The key is to find your niche – what you are really good at and enjoy – and then pursue it with a passion.”
To help facilitate this philosophy, Charlene sits with every agent to develop an individualized career plan that they can follow to produce the results they are pursuing. In addition, Charlene strongly believes that for her agents to be successful, they need to be in sync with innovations in technology. She helps her agents stay ahead of the technology curve – instead of chasing it – by supplying them with aptitude and knowledge to effectively incorporate e-commerce into their daily business practices.
