 Leslie Hughes is a veteran in digital media, the founder of VisualSteam and the founder and CEO of iSPY Visuals, Inc. Hughes has 25 years experience blending creativity, content and technology. 
Hughes startup experience includes being the start-up CEO for 1000Museums which was later sold to Art Authority. She is well known in the photo industry for having been President of Bill Gates’ Corbis Images where she and her team grew Corbis from less than $10 million to more than $132 million in revenue in 5 years. She expanded the business globally to become the number #2 image licensing brand in the world; converted Corbis to a fully digital business model; expanded the market extensively to a 45% share of business outside the US; and expanded the product offering to include motion and consumer products. Hughes drove strategic deals including with Japan’s NTT Docomo to license images, for the first time ever in image packs for mobile phones. She also led the preservation effort for the famed Bettmann Archive which now resides in Iron Mountain. Following Corbis, Hughes was the Group CEO for Imagestate PLC in London where she led the strategy and vision to unify and integrate 7 acquisitions, edit millions of images for digital distribution, and develop a single brand search, distribution and eCommerce platform. Ms. Hughes first entered the photography business via a Kodak subsidiary, The Image Bank as VP, Worldwide Sales. She has been involved in several start-ups, more than 15 acquisitions, and has sat on public and non-profit Boards. She is also currently the Vice President of the Digital Media Licensing Association. Hughes received an MBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University, and BA from the Colorado College.
