Roy Whitehouse has been in private practice since 1985 undertaking assignments around the world and has work on many high profile cases, he is the head of WIS International, based in the United kingdom and Portugal specialising in research, investigations, business intelligence and corporate risk. The company has been established in Portugal since 1992 and operates throughout the country.
Apart from having a presence in the UK and Portugal WIS also undertake business intelligence in Brasil and Angola as well as doing asset tracing around the world.
WIS have a number of protocols with associate companies throughout the world providing information to a number of companies and organisations.
WIS handles counterfeit investigations for a number of marks within Portugal.
Roy is a member of a number of professional organisation and is presently the past President & Chairman of the Council of International Investigators (CII), he is a Board member and the British Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, (Lisbon) chairman of the BPCC Southern committee he is also a Certified Fraud Examiner.
After serving with the British Army (The Life Guards) Roy joined the Police stationed in central London. Commencing his service as a uniformed officer and then a Detective constable, and finally becoming a Sergeant.
Roy left the Police in 1980 becoming an Insurance investigator for a city-based firm. In 1985 he started in Private practice in central London. He formed the Portuguese office in 1992.
He regularly talks at business functions about the industry in general and corporate due diligence in particular
