Peter is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of About Financial Health, a financial health technology social enterprise located in Philadelphia, PA and the proud owner of the MyBudgetCoach® online service.

Peter’s work at About Financial Health is guided by his core belief that nothing is more effective than common-sense technology applied in a practical manner and supported by one-on-one high-quality human interactions.

Prior to founding About Financial Health, Peter was the Chief Revenue Officer/VP Business Development at Communally, a Philadelphia-based social enterprise that develops and manages technology that assists low- and moderate-income families to get out of and stay out of poverty. Peter also played a vital role in identifying and vetting product and service innovations at Communally.

A financial health technology expert and practical visionary, Peter and his team initially created the MyBudgetCoach (MyBC) financial coaching online platform at a community-based nonprofit in Hartford, CT with the generous support of the Center for Financial Services Innovation (CFSI). Early on, Peter recognized the undervalued potential of a well-regarded but paper-based local financial coaching program and transformed the program into a highly scalable and extensible online platform that is used by many organizations nationwide.

Peter’s early efforts to create and sustain the platform culminated in a study of MyBC by the Center for Financial Security at the University of Wisconsin. The study revealed that MyBC not only facilitated substantial financial health improvement for clients using the service, but it did so even when clients and coaches worked remotely, never meeting in-person. This validation of remote delivery for financial coaching has advanced the field and created new opportunities for innovation and exploration.

Peter continues to be the chief conceptual architect for the MyBC platform. His proudest professional achievement is the growth and ongoing success of the MyBC online platform, which is used at over 100 financial coaching and counseling organizations across the United States and South Africa. Peter, through About Financial Health (AFH), will continue to advance the MyBudgetCoach platform and create new client-centered financial health technology that fosters deeper, more effective human connections.

With over 20 years of professional success in a range of fields from city government to advertising to sales and technology, Peter has consistently excelled at creating the conditions necessary to realize the full potential of underperforming or underutilized people, products, policies and processes.

Peter holds a B.A. in Political Science and Public Policy from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University and a Master of Public Administration from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service.
