Darcy Grabenstein

Senior copywriter

Darcy's career began in journalism, but she saw the handwriting on the wall and "defected" to the world of advertising, marketing, public relations and digital communications.

Copywriter Darcy Grabenstein began her career as an editor at The Orlando Sentinel and still gets an adrenaline rush from deadline pressure. She "defected" from journalism to the advertising world, working for Orlando's Robinson, Yesawich & Pepperdine – a U.S. leader in hotel/resort advertising and then named by Adweek as Florida’s largest agency – and for suburban Philly's Thomas J. Paul marketing services, where she wrote copy for Nabisco, M&M/Mars, Johnson & Johnson and more. She also served as marketing director for a six-store regional retail chain and was a writer/project manager in the marketing department of Educational Testing Service. For 14 years, she was senior copywriter for the Lenox housewares brand.

Her passion is PR, and she holds professional accreditation from the Public Relations Society of America and the International Association of Business Communicators. She also served as public relations director for the Northeast Florida Regional Planning Council.

In recent years, her copywriting focus has shifted from direct mail and catalogs to e-commerce – web content, search engine optimization (SEO), email campaigns, blog posts and banner ads. While she has written copy for both large corporations and sole proprietorships, Darcy most enjoys the creative challenge of helping small to mid-size businesses promote their products and services. Using her journalism background, she interviews clients to discover what sets them apart from the competition, then delivers compelling, on-target copy.
