Norman Monteau co-founded American International Gemologists in 1993 with Sandra Monteau, Driving jewelry appraisal innovations that helped transformed how jewelry appraisers nationwide provide & create appraisals for the consumer, insurance companies, estate planners, and the jewelry trade.

A respected and inspiring industry leader, Monteau was instrumental in shepherding some of the industry’s early software and pioneering technologies. Through his vision and passion, Monteau helped build American International Gemologists from a
start-up into one of the nation’s largest jewelry appraisal companies.

Today, he and Sandra Monteau co-chair American International Gemologists board of directors and continue to shape direction for the company with more than $1 million in annual revenue.Monteau has served as the Chief Gemologist Appraiser since
August 1993.

Prior to co-founding American International Gemologists, Monteau formed
Monteau Gemological Services at the Woodland Hills California Warner Center Corporate Center and was the principal Gemologist and Jewelry Appraiser there.
