Hello, my name is Andrea Estrada. I have been representing Usborne Books & More for almost 3 months. It has turned out to be so much fun, fulfilling and financially profitable then I had ever dreamed it would be. I started my business because I feel in love with the books that Usborne has to offer when my sister introduced me to them with her business.
I wanted to find a fun way to help my son to learn to read and Usborne has given me those amazing things! Plus it has been a great way to supplement income for my family. At first I was kind of put off by the home party scene, but when I started to learn more about the books and company I feel in love with everything Usborne had to offer and I just couldn’t pass up the chance to be apart of the team.
With a little hesitation I signed up to start my own business. My sister asked me one question, why not? The truth is it’s a no-lose proposition. The worst that could happen is that I will have an amazing and wonderful library of books for my kids. Within in about a week I had my very own business kit, complete with sample books and business supplies. I scheduled my first home show for that same month. I was worried about my home party anxieties but once the party started I was so well prepared from the help of my team that it went amazing.
People were buying to benefit their kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews and even just friend’s kids. The only complaint that I heard was that people were not able to buy as many books as they would have liked. I am booking more home show and Facebook parties here in the future.
My whole family has really gotten involved in the business. My kids help me label things and sort books, as well as helping me pass out flyers to the neighbors. My husband is a constant support and encourages me every chance he gets. He has even been known to help me pass out flyers and advertise my business.
So far this business has changed my life and how I value things. Not just financially, but in a more important way such as the making of good friends, developing business skills, conquering the anxiety of speaking before small and large groups, keeping up with computer technology to benefit my business and the list goes on and on.
There are lots of different types of home businesses out there. But to find one that benefits children and families and really the future of our country through education, is a real blessing.
