David has over 18 years of international finance, investment management and corporate governance experience. David is the founder and managing director of the Bell Rock Group in the Cayman Islands acts as an independent director to alternative investment funds such as hedge funds, private equity funds, agri funds, real estate funds, blockchain investment funds, master-feeder structures, fund of funds, investment committee's and investment management companies.

Prior to founding Bell Rock in 2012, David worked for a trust and fiduciary services group in Cayman for approximately four years, providing independent director services to investment funds and investment management companies. He was formerly a Director and structurer at Citigroup investment bank in London within the multi-asset structuring group where he was responsible for structuring a wide range of multi-strategy products for institutional clients, including the creation, offering and cross-border distribution of structured finance, cross-border structured note programmes, investment funds and securitisations. He acted as investment advisor to quantitative, structured credit and derivative funds and was a member of the Global Senior Management Risk Approval Committee for new product offerings in all regions. He initially worked as senior legal counsel and legal structurer covering EMEA across all product lines. Prior to this, he was a lawyer at BNP Paribas Investment Bank, worked at Credit Suisse within hedge fund sales & trading, Dresdner Bank in fixed income and SunGard Global Trading. David is registered as a director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority under the Director Registration & Licensing Law 2014.

David holds a MBA in Finance from the University of London, a LLB law degree from the University of Wales, Cardiff and was subsequently called to the bar of England & Wales at the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn with the award of “Very competent”. He is a Chartered MSCI member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment in London, an Accredited Director (Acc.Dir) with the Chartered Secretaries of Canada, member of the Institute of Directors (IoD) and a Fellowship member of the International Bar Association.
