Thomas H. James practices law throughout Illinois and the US on federal tax matters. He was admitted as a Solicitor in England & Wales in 2004. He is admitted to practice in Illinois, U.S. Tax Court, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in both the general bar and the trial bar. He is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales, the American Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association,and the Ogle County Bar Association. He has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1987. He is also a member of the Asset Protection Committee of the American Bar Association's Section of Real Property, Probate and Trust Law. After graduation from law school in 1986, his legal career began with the United States Marine Corps where he was certified as a Judge Advocate practicing trial law before various courts and forums. During his tour with the Marines he was appointed as a Special Assistant United States Attorney to the Central District of California. After the Marines, he practiced with a nationally known Chicago law firm before opening his practice in 1995.
