Through his life Mr. Lewis has always strived to remain gainfully employed. To that end he has worked many jobs over the years but consider his two main skills to be Automotive Machinist and Computer Programmer.

The reason for such varied occupations is simple, two accidents which each resulted in major whiplash causing spinal damage the result of which was that he could no longer work under vehicles or lift the heavy loads required of an engine builder.

So, Mr. Lewis went back to school at age 36 and received a diploma in Applied Computer Technology. He worked in that area for a several years but the back injury started to cause constant debilitating migraines meaning sitting at a computer or concentrate on a programming problem for any length of time without triggering a migraine wasn't possible.

He tried to return to the work force a number of times in different positions but in each case the constant migraines were triggered by everything he did and with increasing severity the longer he worked, meaning that he could not commit to a job as it was never known when work would be possible without being down with migraine.

In trying to find something that could worked at it was decided to try woodworking, specifically, lathe work, as he loved it when in wood shop in high school.

While pricing lathes, pen making was stumbled upon and it was decided to try it. Fortunately it was compatible and the rest, as they say, is history.

Mr. Lewis found that pen making was something that could be done while working around his physical limitations.
