Dr. Daniel Robert Hect

 Daniel Hect is a highly visible educator, trainer, security expert and business leader with more than fifteen years of success in entrepreneurship, classroom and practical education, broadcast media, and human performance improvement.

Dr. Daniel Hect is the Director of Training and Development for the National Association of Campus Safety Administrators; has five children, Megan, Daniel II, Joshua as well as Eldon and Angelene currently live in Granville Ohio.

Daniel started his military career as an Airman assigned to the 3rd Law Enforcement Squadron, Clark Air Base, Philippines. After completing four years of active duty, Daniel was honorably discharged in 1984. In 1985, Daniel enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserves and served as a Master Sergeant at Los Angeles Air Force Base, El Segundo, California. Daniel recently retired from the Air Force Reserves as a Master Sergeant. His last assignment was with the 61st Security Forces Squadron under Major Sahara Bragg at Los Angeles Air Force Base where he was the Superintendent of Reserve Affairs; retiring with over 32 years of service.

After Daniel left Active Duty in 1984, he pursued his law enforcement career as a contracted Department of Defense Police Sergeant at Los Angeles Air Force Base. He continued in law enforcement career at the University of Southern California, Department of Public Safety. He has held positions at USC DPS as a Training Manager, Field Training Officer, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Community Orientated Policing Officer; and an Emergency Services Technician. He has also worked for the Riverside Community College Police Department as the Training Coordinator and Detective. Daniel served as the Chief of Police at Denison University, Xavier University and Mount Holyoke -Smith Colleges.

Daniel is a firm believer in the value of education, he has earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix in Business Management, Master’s degree from USC in Liberal Studies and his Doctorate in Education with a concentrated focus in Organizational Leadership from Argosy University.

Daniel serves as the Masters Hall of Fame’s CEO; the Masters Hall of Fame’s primary focus is Recognizing Excellence in the Martial Arts. The mission of the Masters Hall of Fame is fueled by Daniels passion for the Martial Arts; he holds several black belts including 1st Dan (Shodan) in Haksuro Kenpo, 3rd Dan (Sandan) in Goju Sabudokai, 4th Dan (Yondan) American Wado-Ryu, 5th Dan (Godan) in Goju Ryu, 8th Dan (Godan) in Taiho Jutsu. Daniel currently studies the art of Yoshinkai Aikido and Taiho Jutsu under Sensei David Dye.

In 2003, Sensei David Dye honored Daniel by awarding him the title of Shihan and entrusting him with his own system, Shudokan Ryu Taiho Jutsu. That same year, in Newport Beach, California Daniel was inducted into the Masters Hall of Fame for his Outstanding Contributions to the Martial Arts.

In March of 2006, Hanshi Daniel Hect took the leadership role at the Masters Hall of Fame. Hanshi Daniel Hect re-focused the mission of the Masters Hall of Fame to “Recognizing Excellence” in the Martial Arts. Over the last several years the Masters Hall of Fame has developed relationships with the Long Beach Internationals and the Disney Martial Festival; the Masters Hall of Fame event has continued to flourish with this team of Martial Arts Leaders.

As a result of the new direction of the Masters Hall of Fame, the event has grown into one of the premier international martial arts events on the west coast. The Masters Hall of Fame draws Martial Artist from all over the world, as well as celebrity martial artist all who attend the Masters Hall of Fame Festival to “Recognize Excellence” in martial arts. Daniel Hect is an avid competitor and has won thirteen medals in the Western States Police and Fire Games and the California Police and Fire Games.

Daniel has also competed in the Armed Forces “Peace Keeper Challenge” Competition, representing the Air Force Reserves in 1989 and 1991. The Air Force Reserves Peace Keeper Challenge team won the Silver medal and a Bronze medal respectively.
