Raised the oldest child of a determined single parent in the home of her wise maternal grandparents have provided much anchoring in Deborah's pursuits in addition to her Baptist upbringing. She took those attributes to positions as an army reserve officer and corporate manager at Exxon Mobil and Philip Morris for a while, then started her own company, The DPJ Training Group. For over 15 years she has specialized in client result focused seminars on leadership, 360 assessment, diversity and communications for public and private sector audiences. Deborah holds a B.A. in Sociology from The College of William and Mary and received a M.A. in Human Resource Development from George Mason University. She is also a graduate of the US Army Command and General Staff College and Strictly Business: The Dale Carnegie Immersion Seminar. Deborah is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Reserve. Spreading her message in print, Deborah is the author of three books that provide thought provoking narratives on education, societal challenges and careers.
