Bill Leys founded William Leys Waterproofing Consultants LLC in San Luis Obispo County in 2021, recognizing that builders, architects and property owners needed a local consulting company to assist them with building envelope design, troubleshooting and inspecting buildings for leaks, construction defects and balcony inspections under SB 326.

Bill Leys previously founded Central Coast Waterproofing in 2007, seeking to build a better deck waterproofing company that would stand above it's competitors. As a successful estimator/salesperson for some of California's largest deck waterproofing firms, Bill saw an opportunity to develop and grow a client oriented company that specialized in education of the client as a sales tool.

With Bill's vision, Central Coast Waterproofing developed and maintained a reputation as a detail oriented firm with hands on leadership. In conjunction with Central Coast Waterproofing,

Mr. Leys has authored numerous articles on the subject of waterproof decking, appearing in the Journal of Light Construction, Builder & Developer, Residential Contractor and other national publications. He has spoken at JLCLive Residential Construction Show in Long Beach CA in 2008 and again in Portland OR in 2011.

Mr. Leys has also presented webinars for Community Associations Institute (CAI), the Association of Professional Reserve Analysts and has spoken at Annual Symposiums and local chapter meetings.

Mr. Leys was presented the "Author of the Year" award by CAI Greater Los Angeles in 2008 for his article on SB-800 and it's impacts on deck warranties and maintenance.
