Jeremy Mckay

Executive Director

Jeremy Mckay is a licensed Attorney and administrator of Environmental and Animal Defense.
Jeremy McKay received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, San Diego majoring in Literature and Writing. His original ambition in doing so was to enact positive social change through the power of prose. He decided, however, that those writing skills would be better served in the field of law and attended the University of Denver Sturm School of Law for that purpose. Upon taking a course in Animal Rights, Jeremy felt that he had found the niche field that best suited his interests of environmentalism and desire for positive social change. He subsequently enrolled in the dual degree program to earn both his J.D. and his L.L.M. in Environmental and Natural Resources Law and Policy. Focusing on the policy aspect of environmental and animal law, Jeremy also completed a certificate in International Law Studies in order to better understand how to affect social change on environmental and animal issues on a global scale. In his final year, Jeremy worked in the school’s Environmental Law Clinic focusing on federal wildlife issues. Additionally, he has focused his studies and experiences not only on environmental and animal law but also leading a nonprofit and operating a business.

Jeremy is licensed to practice law in Colorado, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, and the United States District Court for the District of Columbia and in the District of Columbia.
