An immigrant to the United States, Peter Egan Senior has been a U.S. resident and citizen for close to 45 years. He is the founder, president and CEO of EGAN Home Health and Hospice.

Born and raised in Ballygar, Ireland, Egan Sr. first obtained a Masters Degree in Theology (from a seminary school). He came to America a Catholic priest, but ultimately decided he had another calling in life. He decided to stay in the United States, gaining citizenship (legally).

Egan Senior's next field of study was Healthcare Administration, a field in which he obtained a Masters Degree.

He became an assistant administrator and later chief administrator at DePaul Hospital in New Orleans. At the time DePaul was the greater New Orleans area's premiere mental health and substance abuse rehabilitation facility. He held that position until launching his own company, EGAN Healthcare Services, now known as EGAN Home Health and Hospice.

For the past 30 years, Peter Egan Senior has been the primary catalyst in growing a 2-3 person, one location company to the regional behemoth it is today, with nine office locations and 350+ employees across SE Louisiana.

Mr. Egan takes great pride in the quality of care his companies provide, as evidenced by their consistently high scores at Medicare's "Home Health Compare." The scores are relative to average company scores for the state a given company is operating within, as well as nationwide averages.
