William Stephenson founded ezInvoice.com in early 2002 to release the worlds first fully featured web based Invoicing application.

His vision and passion was to create easy to use and afford software for small business owners all over the world. He took his years of experience building web based shopping software and applied it to ezInvoice.com and in the process helped change the way software was purchased, distributed, and licensed. He developed software to handle the "Yearly Subscription Fee" he charged to use ezInvoice and provided a user license that allowed users to run their ezInvoice software on as many computers as they wanted without any restrictions. He also passed the savings of not having to make floppy disks or CD-ROMS and print user manuals and box and ship his software so any small business could afford it.


Over the years Mr. Stephenson has integrated new technologies into ezInvoice as they became robust, dependable, and widely supported. Now, much of the work that used to be done with Perl on the server side is done with Javascript and CSS on the client side, and ezInvoice leverages open source projects like JQuery and Bootstrap to keep the software up to date and the cost low for its users.
