Mr. Ferro founded The Ferro Insurance Group in 2009 to help small businesses purchase affordable health insurance. That morphed into Ferro Financial Services which provides employee benefits to small businesses and the self employed.
Mr. Michael J. Ferro founded The Ferro Insurance Group in 2009 when he was faced with the rising cost of health insurance in a firm in which he was a partner. Being a small group with individuals that had preexisting conditions, Mr. Ferro was hesitant about changing insurance companies, fearing that they would lose coverage completely. The monthly premium has risen steadily every year until it was over $1000.00 per person. This was crippling the business. After doing some research, Mr. Ferro found out that small groups have to be accepted by a new insurance company regardless of preexisting conditions. Mr. Ferro was able to negotiate a lower premium which was less than half of what he was paying prior.

This gave Mr. Ferro the idea that if he had such troubles then other small businesses must be having the same troubles. From there The Ferro Insurance Group was formed to provide small business and the self employed with affordable health insurance.

While working with small businesses, Mr. Ferro learned that most small businesses do not provide any benefits to their employees. No health insurance or retirement benefits yet these workers are the ones that need these benefits the most. It was this event that prompted Mr. Ferro to turn The Ferro Insurance Group into Ferro Financial Services, Inc.

When not consulting small businesses on employee benefits Mr. Ferro also authors articles on insurance, savings and retirement issues.
