John Choe has two decades of leadership experience in public service. As Founding Director of One Flushing, John worked to build a strong, diverse, and sustainable community through grassroots organizing, policy research, and cross-cultural collaborations. Now, as Executive Director of the Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce, John is helping launch a modern multi-ethnic platform to support and bring together our business community. John previously served with the New York City Comptroller, the City Council, the Department of Finance, the Rent Guidelines Board, and the Corporation for Supportive Housing.
John also volunteers with the Flushing Interfaith Council, the Religious Society of Friends, the NAACP Northeast Queens Chapter, and Flushing CSA. John earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from Binghamton University and his Masters in Public Policy from the University of Chicago. John's public service has been recognized by New York Newsday, the Queens Courier, Concerned African-Americans of Flushing, the Queens Historical Society, the Jewish Community Relations Council, the Open Society Institute, the Organization of Chinese Americans, the Revson Foundation, and the Network of Korean American Leaders.
