A small press editor/publisher since the early seventies, Diane Kistner is Director of FutureCycle Press. The press, founded in 2007 by long-time editor/publishers and partners Kistner and the poet Robert S. King, the press incorporated as a nonprofit in 2012.

Winner of several national poetry awards, Kistner stopped writing poetry in her twenties but still vibrates to its psychology, mystery, and music. As MHW ("Many Hat Wearer"), in addition to editing, she designs most of the books and covers for the press and programs all of the ebooks. She's spent most of her adult life working as an editor and typographer; writing non-fiction and software utilities; and, in general, happily making huge messes while learning how to do and grow new things. Before retiring in the late nineties, Kistner worked as a trauma therapist specializing in PTSD and also developed and composed the music for Ultradia, a 90-minute ultradian rhythm entrainment cycle used in balancing and healing work.

Kistner is the author of two books, FALLING IN CAVES, a poetry chapbook (in print and Kindle editions), and the PDF GUIDE FOR AUTHORS. The guide provides a flavor of how an independent publisher like FutureCycle Press operates and includes checklists and valuable links for poets signed by the press. Freely downloadable from the Guidelines tab at www.futurecycle.org, the guide is also useful for those poets wishing to submit their work to FutureCycle Press or anyone who wants to better understand the publishing process.
