Chris has always been fascinated with puzzles and how technology works — from gadgets to hardware and software. Her early passion for tinkering, a mother who was a robotics and industrial control designer and programmer and a family in intelligence helped lead the way the way for her passion with offensive and defensive security and open source intelligence. After experience with the hacking and the legal system at a young age, Chris formed the basis of her core hacking belief: Be curious, break and learn in a responsible, legal and helpful manner. At HypaSec, Chris is applying those desires to disrupt, report, lecture, train and lead the company’s security research and technology strategy. Prior to establishing HypaSec in 2015, Chris established and headed network and security operations teams, ICS security, international joint intelligence teams, EU/UK privacy group for EMEA and South American (outside Saudi Arabia) for Aramco Overseas Company, part of Saudi Aramco. She was Group Leader for AOC, tasked with setting up digital security after the 2012 Shamoon attacks. At Unisys she advised flagship clients at Lloyds TSB and Danone on their overall security and incident response. It is no surprise that outside of work she continues to tap into his love for research by pursuing IoT and ICS exploitation and defense of critical infrastructure.
