Bruce is a highly accomplished internal control specialist with over 25 years of operational healthcare audit and project management experience. During this period, he served as Director or Manager, Internal Audit Services for such companies as Rockford Health Systems (Rockford, IL), Community Health Systems (Franklin, TN), Catholic Healthcare Audit Network (CHAN) (Nashville, TN) and ScrippsHealth (San Diego, CA). Further, he was Vice President, Payment Error Prevention Program (PEPP) at Qsource, Tennessee’s Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) during CMS’s 6th QIO Scope of Work. In this capacity, Bruce led a project team which trained all Tennessee hospitals in Medicare inpatient billing.

Bruce is an expert in risk identification and development of procedures and controls to manage subject risk. He assists healthcare organizations in the identification, mapping and modification to their systems of accounting, managerial, governance and IT control. Bruce leads internal control projects or significant renovations to the client established controls. Key focus areas include: electronic medical records, 340B Drug Discount Program, OCR audit preparedness, drug diversion, stockless supply chain, surgical/medical record warranty implant management, LEAN initiatives, compliance, medical records/billing validation, internal audit department quality assurance validations and HIPAA.

Bruce has a B.S. in Business Administration (Management and Accounting) and an MBA in Systems Management. He is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) and Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA). He resides in White Bluff (Greater Nashville), TN.
