Mariska Jordan leads Jubilee Arts, a program of Newborn Holistic Ministries which serves the city’s Sandtown-Winchester and Upton neighborhoods. Ms. Jordan has always felt compelled to address poverty challenges like poor education, drugs, and violence that plagued her community and areas like it. Her association with Newborn Holistic Ministries began as a volunteer in the organization’s Martha’s Place recovery program for women overcoming drug addiction, continued as a board member for Newborn, and most recently has served as Executive Director of the organization’s Jubilee Arts program over the past year. Though her role at Jubilee Arts focuses on community arts, she sees the broader capacity of her work as a means to develop trusting and meaningful relationships with community members and engage and empower them to help affect change in their own lives and community.

Prior to her work at Jubilee Arts, Ms. Jordan served as a Public Information Officer for the Maryland State Highway Administration. She holds a bachelor's degree in communications.
