Rodney Burrell is the founder and CEO of Burrell Media Group (BMG), a publishing company with several magazines and websites in circulation. BMG publishes Knuckle Dragger Magazine, Tester Magazine, KD Hotties, Vitesse Magazine, and Bombshell Magazine.
Burrell is also the CEO of Burrell Holdings, LLC, a holding corporation with 15 businesses under management. Companies range from record producing to government security contracting and weapons manufacturing.
Burrell, a Pittsburgh native, started out his editorial career in Florida as an exotic automotive and motorcycle writer for Makes and Models Magazine, a luxury lifestyle publication. He rose through the ranks, becoming the senior editor and eventually being promoted to the interim Editor-in-Chief.
At 24, Burrell relocated from Florida to New York to start his own publication. The magazine, entitled Vici, (Latin for I conquered) was a business publication geared toward young adults. The publication lasted a year before it was sold off to to a private party. Burrell then moved back to Florida and began freelance writing and consulting for various start-up and established publications such as Moves Magazine, DuPont registry, and HR Gmt.
Burrell who is extremely multifaceted, managed public relations for 184 Mcdonald's locations in the Tampa Bay area.
Burrell's agency contracted with Michael Jordan Motorsports,and began working on various sponsorships and endorsement deals for the AMA race team. He also teamed up with "Team E" racing, an Indy Lights team based out of Trinity, Florida.
Burrell has spoken at Duquesne University, Grove City College, and Point Park College for publishing, and entrepreneurship.
He was awarded Writer of the Year for M&M Magazine in 2004 and received an Editor's Choice Award for his poem, I.Me. He continues to travel promoting his companies initiatives and and projects.
Recently, Burrell started an organization called Sparque; a company that focuses on social and cultural education.
