After graduating Valedictorian of his police academy class, Ron Lyons served as a Dallas, Texas area police officer who specialized in drug interdiction, DWI detection, and enforcement and served for a period of time as a K-9 handler with his German Shepherd, Maverick. During his time as a police officer, Lyons set many records that still stand today including the largest single seizure of cocaine in the eastern federal district of Texas. Field Training Officer is another title that Lyons carried for the majority of his time serving as a police officer. In fact, his passion for training new officers landed him Officer of the Year two separate times.

These days, Ron Lyons owns Lyons Tactical & Survival Supply where he sells tactical and survival gear to his clients with a real passion for serving his clients. But, Lyons doesn't seem to know how to slow down. As an added benefit to his tactical and survival supply, Lyons writes many articles related to police and survival issues and regularly creates professional quality videos and manages a popular podcast show on those subjects.

Ron Lyons makes himself available quite often to media representatives, other writers, reporters, and video creators when the subject is related to his two passions: law enforcement and survivalism. Lyons is very comfortable in front of a camera, on the mic and can write to very exacting standards.
