Initially trained as an electrical engineer with Philips Medical, Gerry worked on the design and development of both spectrophotometers and chromatographs. He moved into commercial roles with Philips and subsequently Vickers Medical where he worked on early electronic imaging systems. He moved to France to manage a biomolecular separations and analysis group before returning to UK as deputy Managing Director of a Cambridge University spin out in 1997. That business was sold to Perkin Elmer and Gerry subsequently led the management buyout of the medical imaging group in 1999. After seed funding that company became Digital Healthcare which became the worlds leading healthcare company in retinal risk assessment. That company was subsequently sold. Since 2006 Gerry has worked in a number of consulting and early stage business development roles in the UK and the USA. He is an experienced media presenter and enjoys helping to develop new companies with novel technologies in the healthcare and life science space.
