Stewart has been in the residential construction industry for almost 30 years starting in the field, advancing into management, beginning his own construction company in 1993, and becoming licensed in Louisiana in 1996. He currently specializes in residential renovations in the Uptown and Garden Districts of New Orleans and in Old Metairie.

Having suffered the loss of his Lakeview home from Katrina, Stewart is well acquainted with the remediation and construction issues facing the residents of New Orleans. He is an administrator for the Beacon of Hope, a non-profit organization designed to help residents rebuild, for 64 blocks in the Lakeview area.
